It’s that time of year again. No I’m not talking about Daylight Saving Time, I’m talking about the initial lineup announcements for Pitchfork. They’ve already announced their three headliners (R. Kelly, Bjork, and Belle & Sebastian), and there are various sources reporting additional artists in this year’s lineup, including Angel Olsen, El-P, Chairlift, and Swans. There are many more to come though, so we’ve thought of a few artists we’d really like to see at Pitchfork…

Yo La Tengo

Basia Bulat

Joanna Newsom – What’s that you say, she’s already on the lineup? Awesome :)

Happy Valentine’s Day to all you lovebirds out there! V-Day may be just a “Hallmark Holiday” to some people, but the Stitely team doesn’t mind having an excuse to delight in construction paper hearts, stomach butterflies, and Eskimo kisses. In true Stitely style, we’re celebrating the day with music. Check out a few of our favorite love songs!

Jeff (Owner/President): “My One and Only Love” by Johnny Hartman and John Coltrane
Before our wedding, my wife and I were trying to choose the perfect first dance song. I immediately thought of this one and in my excitement to tell her about it, sang it to her. She crinkled her nose! Later I played her the recording and she absolutely loved it. Luckily, it was just because of my singing that she didn’t like it. It become our first dance, and to this day I still get chills every time I hear it.

Carly (Event Planning Coordinator): “Everlasting Light” by The Black Keys
OK, so I have WAAAAY too many songs to just pick one but this one has a special place in my heart. When my bf and I started dating we’d play the album Brothers on repeat while hanging out, cooking, talking, or going on road trips. It’s really stuck with us, and we were even lucky enough to capture our song on video at The Black Keys concert at United Center last year!

I also love “And I Love Her” by the Beatles, especially after seeing Paul McCartney live at Wrigley Field two summers ago! It was an experience of a lifetime.

Paige (Sales Associate): “Everything” by Michael Buble
This is one of the first songs my boyfriend Andrew and I ever danced to!

So, what songs would you add to your V-Day mix tape?
