Save The Last Song For Me

How to Choose a Last Dance Song

The party has been rockin’ all night long but how are you going to top it all off? Your wedding will surely be one to remember so why not go out with a bang! You can have your DJ or band choose your last song but maybe you don’t want someone else’s choice.

Keep it upbeat or go sentimental

The last song you choose influences the feeling of the dance floor at the end of the night. Keep guests dancing and wanting more by choosing an upbeat song that everyone knows the words to. Or, have all your guests gather around you both and end the night on a sweeter note.

What song has fun memories?

One of the things we ask our couples during the planning process is “What was the song that always played at the bar during college? Was there a song that always played at closing time?” These questions are great to think about your ‘Must Plays’ for the evening but it can also help you figure out how the night should end by leaving your guests feeling nostalgic and wanting more.

What is your favorite music genre?

If you had a variety of music styles for your dancing music, consider choosing your favorite genre/artist/song to end the night. This is even better if the song is a favorite of yours and your husband/wife so that it truly represents the two of you.

Ask your guests

On your RSVPs have a line for guests to request songs that will get them out on the dance floor. Use the list created from these requests to pick a last dance song. Everyone will be dying to hear it and stay on the floor all night waiting for their jam to play.
